Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges traditional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a hidden sect.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Bonus Material
Players who accomplish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside several objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
