A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

This incident resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
